Fresh and Local
Biacesa is dotted with little family run vineyards, olive groves and small holdings, growing their own produce in traditional ways. Before the main road was constructed in the second half of the 19th Century, the valley was virtually cut off and self sufficiency was a necessity. These days the old farmers can be seen heading to their plots in the morning by motorbike with Great Grandma's wicker basket on the handle bars to collect lunch from their fields. There is also a fishery operating in the waters of the river at Biacesa, so if fish is on your menu then it doesn't get much fresher than this.
Where ever possible, we use produce from the local villages. If we are arranging the breakfasts or brunches they are predominantly vegetarian, although fish and eggs may feature. We serve plenty of delicious fresh fruit, yoghurt, muesli, juices salads, beans, lentils or quinoa type dishes.
The Trentino valley is famous for certain meat and cheese products which are usually found on restaurant menus or in supermarkets. Traditionally valley food is quite heavy or meat orientated but there are plenty of vegetarian traditions such as polenta. There is of course no shortage of pasta and pizza options and in nearby Riva, restaurants are plentiful and varied. In Biacesa itself the Osteria Magasi restaurant is owned, chefed and often served by one of the many village characters - Franco! The lovely Elisa serves light lunches, snacks and the worlds best cheese cake at the Le Grotte cafe bar. Both are just a stroll down the lane back to your accommodation.
